BREWERIES

Fohrenburg

Traditional company since 1881

The Fohrenburg brewery uses only the best ingredients for the production of the various beer specialties, such as untreated crystal clear spring water from the Silvretta-Arlberg massif, natural yeast, the best wheat and barley malt and fine hops from the region.

GÖSS

160 years of tradition

The Gösser success story began 160 years ago. Today Gösser is the best-known, best-selling and most popular beer brand in Austria. The Gösser brewery uses local natural products: brewing water from its own spring protection area, malting barley varieties from eastern Austria and hops from Leutschach in southern Styria.

THE HOME
OF THE „BEERY BEER“

Puntigamer’s history begins at the so-called „Puntigamerhof“, a tavern that used to be located at the outskirts of Graz. Right there, the Knabl family founded the Puntigam brewery in 1883. This year marks the beginning of triumphant progress of the so-called „beery beer“, as Puntigamer’s also know, and of which close to 200 million pints are consumed year in and year out.

The Schladming brewery is a regional brewery of specialities, located in the heart of the Schladming-Dachstein region of Styria. It’s the Tauern mountains that supply the brewery’s resources – The air up there and of course the clean water.

Schwechat

THE CRADLE OF SCHWECHAT’S LAGER BEER

Ever since 1632, Schwechater has been standing for pioneering achievements in the art of brewing. Back in 1841, Anton Dreher produced the first ever bottom-fermented Lager beer in beer brewing history, making Schwechater beer world famous. In 2016, the brewery celebrated 175 years of Vienna Lager from Schwechat.

People already knew back in the days: Investing a bit more time and diligence pays off for true beer connaisseurs. Nowadays, the historical knowledge about that diligence, used by the brewmasters in Wieselburg to interpet the recipes passed on to them, means a vital ingredient that helps lifting this regional speciality above mass products.

The brewery of Zipf is see as one of the engines of innovation on the Austrian beer market: It’s due to the Upper Austrian brewery that we have light beer crates made from synthetic material and the well-acclaimed 6-beer-tray today.

The Falkenstein Brewery is elementarily involved in creating new beer innovations. For that, their brewmasters use water from the brewery’s own well, while hops and barley originate from the best growing regions.

BREWING CRAFT AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL

Since 1607 the Schleppe brewery on the outskirts of the city of Klagenfurt has been preserving craftsmanship at the highest level and living the art of brewing with passion. The foundation stone for today’s specialty brewery was already laid back then.
